Mit dem article-layouter können CSS Klassen unter einem Eintrag zusammengefasst werden und dem Redakteur beim Anlegen eines neuen Artikels als verständliche Layoutoption angezeigt werden.

Dazu gibt es im Contao in der Navigation unter Layout den Punkt "Artikel Layouts". Dort werden die Layoutoptionen gepflegt die dem Redakteur zur Verfügung stehen. Die Auswahl einer solchen Option für einen Artikel erfolgt in den Artikeleinstellungen. In den Einstellungen findet sich unter dem Bereich "Template-Einstellungen" des Artikels ein neues Selectfeld. Sobald eine Option zugewiesen wurde, wird das Template "mod\_article" von Contao um die neuen Eigenschaften automatisch erweitert.

Noch nicht veröffentlichte Article Layouts können über die Frontendvorschau getestet werden bevor sie für den produktiven Einsatz den Redakteuren zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
