About this repository
=====================

[](#about-this-repository)

This is an **unofficial** fork of [Laravel Lumen](https://github.com/laravel/lumen) created specifically to maintain parity with the core Laravel framework versions.

Installing Lumen
----------------

[](#installing-lumen)

Lumen utilizes [Composer](https://getcomposer.org) to manage its dependencies. So, before using Lumen, make sure you have Composer installed on your machine.

Install Lumen by issuing the Composer `create-project` command in your terminal:

```
composer create-project --prefer-dist prettyyellowdog/lumen blog
```

Serving Your Application
------------------------

[](#serving-your-application)

To serve your project locally, you may use the [Laravel Homestead](http://laravel.com/docs/homestead) virtual machine, [Laravel Valet](http://laravel.com/docs/valet), or the built-in PHP development server:

```
composer run start
```

This is the equivalent to

```
php -S 0.0.0.0:8888 -t public
```

Lumen PHP Framework
===================

[](#lumen-php-framework)

Laravel Lumen is a stunningly fast PHP micro-framework for building web applications with expressive, elegant syntax. We believe development must be an enjoyable, creative experience to be truly fulfilling. Lumen attempts to take the pain out of development by easing common tasks used in the majority of web projects, such as routing, database abstraction, queueing, and caching.

> **Note:** In the years since releasing Lumen, PHP has made a variety of wonderful performance improvements. For this reason, along with the availability of [Laravel Octane](https://laravel.com/docs/octane), we no longer recommend that you begin new projects with Lumen. Instead, we recommend always beginning new projects with [Laravel](https://laravel.com).

Official Documentation
----------------------

[](#official-documentation)

Documentation for the framework can be found on the [Lumen website](https://lumen.laravel.com/docs).

Contributing
------------

[](#contributing)

Thank you for considering contributing to Lumen! The contribution guide can be found in the [Laravel documentation](https://laravel.com/docs/contributions).

Security Vulnerabilities
------------------------

[](#security-vulnerabilities)

If you discover a security vulnerability within Lumen, please send an e-mail to Taylor Otwell at . All security vulnerabilities will be promptly addressed.

License
-------

[](#license)

The Lumen framework is open-sourced software licensed under the [MIT license](https://opensource.org/licenses/MIT).

How is this calculated?**Maintenance (25%)** — Last commit recency, latest release date, and issue-to-star ratio. Uses a 2-year decay window.

**Popularity (30%)** — Total and monthly downloads, GitHub stars, and forks. Logarithmic scaling prevents top-heavy scores.

**Community (15%)** — Contributors, dependents, forks, watchers, and maintainers. Measures real ecosystem engagement.

**Maturity (30%)** — Project age, version count, PHP version support, and release stability.
